Gram-negative coccobacilli. Non-motile. Non-sporulated.
Colonies on nutrient agar are circular, convex, smooth and slightly opaque.
Nonhemolytic on horse blood agar. Growth occurs at 37 ºC, but not at 41 ºC. Aerobic.
Isolated from activated sludge in Victoria, Australia.

succinic acid, pimelate, cis-aconitate, trans-aconitate, adipate,

phosphate, glucose 1-phosphate, glucose 6-phosphate, L-histidine (with some exceptions), oxoisocaprate, glutarate, beta-alanine,
L-glutamate, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan and L-leucinamide
Acid is produced from glucose, and not from alpha-D-melibiose, D-sucrose, D-mannitol, dulcitol, salicin, D-maltose, D-trehalose,
methyl beta-D-xyloside and m-erythritol.
