Species description is based on a single strain.
Gram-positive rods, 06-0.8 x 3.0-4.0 µm, motile by  peritrichous flagella. Produce
subterminal, ellipsoidal endospores in slightly swollen sporangia.
Colonies are circular and yellowish. Grows at 20-45 ºC (optimum at 37 ºC), at pH
8-11(optimum pH 9-10). Can grow at 7% (w/v) NaCl concentration, but not at 10%.
Isolated from soil, Japan.
