Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive, straight rods, 0.5-0.7 x 4.0-13 µm. Motile. Produce subterminal or
terminal, ellipsoidal endospores in non-swollen sporangia.
Colonies grown on Nurient Agar for 2 days are regular in shape with round edges,
smooth, circular, cream-coloured and 1-2 mm in diameter. Grows at 35-70 ºC
(optimum, 55 ºC), at pH 6.5-9.0 (optimum of pH 8.0-8.5) and in 0-2.5% (w/v) NaCI
(optimum 0.5% NaCl). Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from a soil sample collected near Saraykoy-Buharkent thermal power plant located in Kizildere province of Denizli, Turkey.
Tolerates 5 to 70 mM boron. Susceptible to vancomycin, bacitracin, chloramphenicol, rifampicin, tetracycline, penicillin G, neomycin,
kanamycin and azithromycin. Resistant to novobiocin.
Undetermined.
