Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive, motile rods, 0.8-1.2 x 2.5-3.5 µm, occurring singly or short chains.
Produce subterminal, oval endospores wich usually swell the sporangia.
Colonies are 1.5–3.0 mm in diameter, cream-coloured and slightly irregular in shape
after 2 days on TSA at 20 ºC. Aerobic; no anaerobic growth.
Grow at pH 5.5-9.0 (optimum pH 7.2) and in 0-7% NaCl media (optimum 2% NaCl).
Temperature range 10-30 ºC (optimum temperature 20 ºC).
Isolated from faeces of wild seahorses (Hippocampus guttulatus) captured in north-west Spain (Toralla, Galicia).
