Sharma et al. 2014.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods. Non-motile. Produce terminal endospores.
Colonies on TSA after 48 h of incubation are transparent, non-pigmented, 2 mm in
diameter but turning red with prolonged incubation. Growth occurs at 10-40 ºC
(optimum 28-30 ºC), at pH 6.0-10.0 (optimum 7.3-7.7) and in the presence of 0-6%
(w/v) NaCl (optimum 2% (w/v) NaCl). Aerobic.
Isolated from a marine sediment sample (collected from 5 m depth) from Lakshadweep, India.
Undetermined.
