Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods, mobile and spore-forming.
Colonies grown on 5% sheep blood Colombia agar plate after 24 h of incubation are
shiny, beige and 2 mm in diameter. Optimal growth at pH 7.5 and 37 ºC. Can grow in
media ranging from 0 to 10% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 5-7.5% (w/v) NaCl). Aerobic.
Isolated from a 10-year-old girl from Ndiop, a rural area in Senegal.
