Gram-variable rods, 1.3-1.8 x 4.0-7.0 μm. Motile by peritrichous flagella. Produce
ellipsoidal spores in swollen sporangium.

Colonies are cream, irregular, thin and translucent on TSA. Aerobic and anaerobic
growth. Can grow at 10-40 ºC, optimally at 30 ºC. Grow in 0-3% NaCl but not in 4%
NaCl media. Optimum pH 6.5-8.0, no growth at pH 4.
