Gram-negative rods with rounded ends, 0.7 x 1.5-1.8 μm, occuring singly or in pairs.
Non-motile.  Non-spore-forming.
After 48 h of incubation on trypticase soy agar at 28 ºC, colonies are beige, smooth,
shiny, non-translucent, round, mostly regular in shape with entire edges, ~ 1-1.5 mm
in diameter. Grows on MacConkey agar. Growth occurs at 15-30 ºC (weak or no
growth at 37 ºC) and at pH 6-7. No growth at 4, 40 or 45 ºC. Grows in 1% and 2%
(weakly) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from short-term grassland (Lolium perene) rhizoshpere soil in Netherlands.

Positive results for acid phosphatase, catalase (weak), leucine arylamidase, C4 and C8-lipase, oxidase, phosphamidase, Tween 40
and 60 hydrolysis.
Can assimilate glucose, mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, gluconate, malate, D-aspartic acid and L-glutamic acid.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, casein hydrolysis, DNase, esculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase, gelatin liquefaction, alpha-
and beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole production,
C14-lipase, alpha-mannosidase, starch hydrolysis, Tween 20 and 80 hydrolysis, trypsin, chymotrypsin, urease, valine arylamidase
and fermentation of glucose.
No assimilation of arabinose, caprate, citrate, phenylacetate, trehalose, alpha-D-glucose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D- and L-fucose,
L-rhamnose, D-sorbitol, D-mannitol (positive in API 20 NE), D-arabitol, myo-inositol, glycerol, D-glucose 6-phosphate, D-fructose
