Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Betaproteobacteria, Order Burkholderiales, Family Burkholderiaceae, Genus
Caballeronia, Caballeronia peredens (Peeters et al. 2016) Dobritsa et al. 2017.
Old synonym: Burkholderia peredens Peeters et al. 2016.
Gram-negative rods with rounded ends, 1 x 1-2 μm, occuring single or in pairs.
Non-motile.
Colonies on trypticase soy agar after 48h incubation at 28 ºC are round, about 1 mm
in diameter, smooth, shiny, non-translucent, with entire margins and a white-creamy
color. Grows on MacConkey agar. Growth occurs at 15-37 ºC and at pH 7 in nutrient
broth at 28 ºC. Grows aerobically (anaerobic growth not tested).
Isolated from soil in Japan.
Undetermined.
