Gram-negative rods, 0.8 x 1.2-2.0 μm. Motile by peritrichous flagella. Non-sporulating.
Colonies after 24 h growth on Trypticase Soy Agar at 30 ºC, are convex, circular, and
beige colonies with entire edge and smooth surface. Can grow at 30, 37 and 42 ºC.
Aerobic. No haemolysis on horse blood agar. Grows in the presence of 0.5 and 1.5%
NaCl, but not in the presence of cetrimide, 10% lactose, penicillin (10 μg disks) or 3,
4.5 or 6% NaCl. Non-pigmented. No fluorescence on King B medium.
Isolated from from human clinical samples, pool water, groundwater and bottled mineral water (recovered only in the first day, not
recovered after 7 days storage).
Undetermined. Isolated from human respiratory tract, sputum, urine and wound newborn.
