Gram-negative rods. Motile. Non-sporulating.
Can grow at 28, 32 and 37 ºC. No growth is observed on BCSA (Burkholderia cepacia
selective agar).
Isolated from from the respiratory tract of cystic fibrosis patients.

aminopeptidase, lysine decarboxylase, proline aminopeptidase, tryptophan aminopeptidase, N-acetylglucosaminidase, urease, acid
production from glucose, sucrose or lactose.
No assimilation of glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, maltose, citrate or phenylacetate.
Variable results for nitrate reduction, lipase, phosphatase and alpha-glucosidase.
