Mycoavidus cysteinexigens Ohshima et al. 2016, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative short rods, 0.5-0.7 x 1.2-1.8 μm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on B-CYEalpha agar plates are flat, irregular, viscous and white to cream
colour. Grows at 4-35 ºC. Aerobe / microerobe; no anaerobic growth.
Requires cysteine for growth.
Living in association with the fungus Mortierella elongata, which was isolated from cropland soil samples in Japan.

alpha-chymotrypsin, urease and valine arylamidase.
No utilization of glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, maltose, gluconate, caprate, adipate, malate,
citrate or phenylacetate.
