Pandoraea sputorum Coenye et al. 2000.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.7 / 1.5-4.0 μm, arranged individually or in irregular clusters.
Motile by means of a single polar flagellum. Non-spore-forming.
Growth is observed at 30 and 37 ºC, some strains can grow at 42 ºC. Can grow on
Drigalsky agar and in 0.5 or 1.5% NaCl (variable growt in 3% NaCl). No growth in 4.5
or 6.0% NaCl and 10% lactose. No growth in O/F medium with glucose or on
acetamide. Produces fluorescence on King’s B medium.
Isolated from sputum of patients with cystic fibrosis.
Undetermined.
