Gram-negative straight rods. Motile. Non-sporulated.
Growth is observed at 30 ºC, but not at 42 ºC. Some strains do not grow at 37 ºC.
Haemolysis is not produced. No production of fluorescent pigment. No growth in the
presence of 3.0, 4.5 or 6.0% NaCl. Variable growth in the presence of: 0.5% NaCl,
1.5% NaCl and 10% lactose. No growth on cetrimide or acetamide.
Isolated from the rhizosphere soil in United Kingdom.

Positive results for  acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase, ester lipase C14, leucine arylamidase, phosphoamidase & Tween 80
hydrolysis. Grows in OF medium with: D-glucose, D-fructose and D-xylose.
Can assimilate trehalose, L-arginine, L-arabinose, D-glucose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, D-gluconate, phenylacetate, L-malate and
DL-lactate.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, DNase, esculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase, gelatin liquefaction, alpha- and
beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alpha-mannosidase, H
2S
production (TSI), indole production, lipase C14, lysine decarboxylase, nitrate reduction, nitrite reduction, ornithine decarboxylase,
oxidase, tryptophanase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, urease and valine arylamidase.
No assimilation of citrate, DL-norleucine and maltose.

Variable results for esterase C4, cysteine arylamidase, assimilation of N-acetylglucosamine, caprate, adipate and sucrose.
