Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative, short rods, 0.6–0.8 x 1.0–1.2 μm. Motile. Non-sporeforming.
Colonies are round, convex, mucoid and ivory-yellowish with entire margins after
incubation for 2 days at 28 ºC on 1/2 TSA plates (pH 5.0). Grows at 15-42 ºC optimally
at 20-37 ºC. Grows at pH 3.0-7.5, optimally at pH 5.0. Growth occurs in 0-1% (w/v)
NaCl, but not with 2% NaCl in 1/2 TSB. Aerobic.
Isolated from peat soil (pH 4.5) from Russia.

beta-glucosidase (weak reaction), leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase,  valine arylamidase (weak reaction), acid
production from: D- and L-arabinose, D-arabitol, aesculin, D-fructose, D-fucose, N-acetylglucosamine, D-galactose, gluconate,
glycerol, inositol, mannitol, D-mannose, raffinose, L-rhamnose, ribose and D-xylose.
Can assimilate L-alanine, L-arabinose, caprate, gluconate, D-glucose, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, L-histidine, 4-hydroxybenzoate,
DL-3-hydroxybutyrate, 2-ketogluconate, DL-lactate, L-malate, D-mannitol, D-mannose, melibiose, myo-inositol, phenylacetate,
L-proline, L-rhamnose, D-ribose and D-sorbitol.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, alpha-chymotrypsin, cystine arylamidase, alpha-fucosidase, alpha-galactosidase,
gelatinase, alpha-glucosidase (starch hydrolysis), N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, beta-glucuronidase, lipase (C14),
alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, trypsin, urease, acid production from: D-adonitol (ribitol), amygdalin, L-arabitol, arbutin,
cellobiose, dulcitol (galactitol), erythritol, L-fucose, gentiobiose, glycogen, inulin, 2-ketogluconate, 5-ketogluconate, lactose, D-lyxose,
melezitose, melibiose, methyl alpha-D-glucoside, methyl alpha-D-mannoside, methyl beta-D-xyloside, salicin, sorbitol, L-sorbose,
starch, sucrose, D-tagatose, trehalose, turanose, xylitol and L-xylose.
No assimilation of acetate, adipate, citrate, L-fucose, glycogen, 3-hydroxybenzoate, itaconate, 5-ketogluconate, malonate, maltose,
propionate, salicin, L-serine, suberate, sucrose and n-valerate.
