Paraburkholderia pallidirosea
Description is based mostly on API 50CH, API ZYM, API 20E and API 20NE results.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, esterase (C4), esterase (C8), lipase (C14), leucine arylamidase and
alpha-chymotrypsin.
Acid is produced from glucose and rhamnose.
Can assimilate glycogen, D-fucose, glycerol, D- and L-arabinose, D-ribose, D-xylose, D-adonitol, D-galactose, glucose, D-fructose,

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, esculin hydrolysis, H
2S production, indole production,
naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alpha-mannosidase, oxidase, starch hydrolysis, trypsin, urease, valine arylamidase and cystine
arylamidase.
Acid is not produced from mannitol, inositol, sorbitol, sucrose, melibiose, amygdalin and arabinose.
No assimilation of raffinose, erythritol, L-xylose, methyl beta-D-arabinopyranoside, L-sorbose, dulcitol, methyl

Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.7 x 1.0-2.5 μm. Motile by unipolar flagella. Non-spore-
forming.
Colonies on R2A agar are smooth, circular and pale pink within 48 h; after this time
they turn light grey. The strain grows well on R2A, TSA, Luria-Bertani agar, Nutrient
agar and MacConkey agar. Grows at 16-37 ºC (optimum 28-33 ºC). Grows at pH
4.0-8.0 (optimum 7.0-7.5). Grows in 0-1.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 0%) media.  Aerobic.
Isolated from the monsoon evergreen broadleaved forest soil of Dinghushan Biosphere Reserve, Guangdong Province, China.
Undetermined.
