Colonies are circular, convex, smooth and creamish-yellow pigmented. Violacein is
not produced. Growth temperature range is 12-37 ºC, 30 ºC optimum. No growth at 42
ºC. Range of pH is 5.0-10.0, 8.0 optimum. Grows in up to 2% NaCl. Grows on TSA.
Facultative anaerobe.

ketoglutaric acid, hydroxy-L-proline, monomethyl succinate, L-leucine, putrescine, D-sorbitol, bromosuccnic acid, L-alaninamide and
D-glucose-6-phosphate.
Negative results for alpha- and beta-galactosidase, glycine arylamidase, ornithine decarboxylase, lysine decarboxylase, L-histidine
assimilation, beta-glucuronidase, H2S production, indole production, methyl red reduction, nitrate reduction, oxidase, Voges-
Proskauer test, acid production from: adonitol, arabinose, cellobiose, dulcitol, galactose, inulin, lactose, mannitol, maltose,
melibiose, raffinose, rhamnose, salicin, sucrose and xylose.
No utilization of glycyl-L-glutamic acid, D-mannitol, methyl pyruvate, L-threonine, L-phenylalanine, L-alanyl-glycine and D-L-alpha-
glycerol phosphate.
