Gram-positive, irregular rods, 0.5-0.8 / 2.0-2.5 µm, and occurred singly or in pairs with
diphtheroid arrangements; in 5-7-day cultures, they were replaced by coccobacillus
forms, 0.7-0.8 µm in diameter. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on Corynebacterium Agar are orange to rose-orange, butyrous, opaque,
convex, 1.0 mm in diameter, visible after 2-3 days incubation. Obligately aerobic.
Grows at 24-26 ºC, optimum. No growth at 7 or 37 ºC. No growth in 5% NaCl media.
No growth in 0.03% tellurium acetate.
Isolated from the leaf gall induced by the nematode Anguina graminis on fescue, Festuca rubra L. (Moscow region, Russia).
Resistant to ampicillin, gentamicin, rubomicin and oxacillin. Susceptible to doxycycline, levomicetin, metacycline, rifampicin and
streptomycin.
Isolated from the leaf gall induced by the nematode Anguina graminis on fescue, Festuca rubra L.

Non-acid-fast.

Positive results for catalase, citrate utilisation, H
2S production, methyl red reduction, oxidase, Tween 40, 60, 80 hydrolysis and
Voges-Proskauer reaction.

Negative results for aesculin hydrolysis, casein hydrolysis, hippurate hydrolysis, nitrate reduction, starch hydrolysis, urease, acid
production from: dulcitol, inositol, lactose, mannitol, melibiose, rhamnose and sorbitol.
