Pantoea, Pantoea deleyi Brady et al. 2009.
Gram-negative, short rods, 0.9 x 1.5–3.0 μm, occurring singly or in pairs. Motile. Non-
spore-forming. Non-encapsulated.
Colonies are beige to yellow, round, convex and smooth with entire margins.
Facultatively anaerobic. Optimum growth temperature is 28 ºC.
Isolated from eucalyptus leaves in Uganda.
May produce symptoms of bacterial blight and die-back in eucalyptus leaves.

L-glutamate, L-tartrate, cis- and trans-aconitate, L-proline, D- and L-alanine, L-serine, malonic acid, Tweens 40 and 80, D-lyxose,
D-arabitol, gentiobiose and citric acid.
Negative results for indole production, H2S production, lysine decarboxylase, ornithine decarboxylase, oxidase, urease, aid production
from dulcitol, inositol, cellobiose, lactose, and raffinose.
No utilization of erythritol, D-adonitol, cellobiose, lactose, lactulose, L-sorbose, dulcitol, D-sorbitol, amygdalin, inulin, raffinose,
glycogen, xylitol, D-tagatose, L-arabitol, gluconate, 2-ketoglutarate, 5-ketogluconate, L-fucose, 3-O-methyl-D-glucopyranose,
D-tartrate, L-tryptophan, L-histidine, glutarate, malonate, propionate and L-tyrosine.
