Gram-negative, short rods, 1-1.5 x 2 µm. Swarming motility. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, rounded, mucoid and 1-2 mm in diameter after 24 h of growth at
30 ºC on LB agar plates. Grows on LB agar, MacConkey agar, Columbia blood
agar, MM blood agar and M9 agar at 25-37 ºC.
Isolated from serous fluid from a wound on the hand of a 71-year-old patient in the USA.

L-rhamnose, D-ribose, D-saccharose (weak), D-sorbitol, starch (weak), D-tagatose, D-turanose (weak), D-trehalose, D-xylose and
xylitol.

Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, citrate utilization, gelatinase, H2S production, lysine decarboxylase, ornithine
decarboxylase, tryptophan deaminase, urease, Voges-Proskauer test, fermentation/utilization of  D-adonitol, L-arabitol, arbutin,
