Gram-positive rods, 0.6-1.0 / 0.9-3.0 µm. Non-spore-forming. Non-motile.
Colonies are whitish, opaque, raised, with a diameter of 1.2-3.2 mm after 48 hours of
anaerobe incubation at 37 ºC on MRS agar. No growth at 15 ºC. Can grow at 30-45 ºC
and at pH 4.0-8.0. Anaerobe.
Isolated from the jejunum of yellow-necked mouse (Apodemus flavicollis), Lithuania.

Positive results for the fermentation of L-arabinose, esculin, galactose, glucose (with gas production), lactose, maltose, melibiose,
raffinose, ribose, sucrose, and D-xylose.
Negative results for catalase, fermentation of adonitol, amygdalin, arbutin, D-arabinose, D- and L-arabitol, cellobiose, dulcitol,
erythritol, L- and D-fucose, D-fructose, gentiobiose, gluconate, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, glycerol, glycogen, inositol, inulin, D-lyxose,
mannitol, mannose, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-xyloside,
rhamnose, salicin, sorbitol, L-sorbose, starch, D-tagatose, trehalose, turanose, xylitol, L-xylose, N-acetylglucosamine, and methyl
beta-D-xylopyranoside.
