Gram-positive rods, 0.6-0.9/1.4-5.1 µm, occurring single or in pairs. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are beige, opaque, umbonate, undulate, dull, 0.5-1 mm in diameter after 48
h incubation on MRSF agar (MRS with 20 g/l fructose) under anaerobic conditions.
Grows at 10-45 ºC (optimum 30 ºC). Can grow in pH 4.0-8.0 (optimum pH 6.0) and in
0-7.5% NaCl. Facultatively anaerobic. Obligately fructophilic.
Isolated from the homogenate of a meat ant (Iridomyrmex purpureus), Australia.
Undetermined.
Heterofermentative.
