Gram-positive rods, 0.4-0.6 x 2.0-5.0 µm, occuring singly, in pairs or in short chains of

Colonies on MRS agar after anaerobic growth for 48 h at 30 ºC, are beige, with a
smooth to rough surface, circular or slightly irregular in outline and 2-4 mm in
diameter. In MRS broth, weak growth occurs at 15 ºC but no growth occurs at 45 ºC.
Growth occurs at pH 4.0. Weak growth occurs with 4% (w/v) NaCl.
