Gram-positive rods, 0.5-0.8 / 1.0-2.8 µm, occurring singly or in short chains. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, convex, opaque, irregular circle, 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter after 7
days at 35 ºC on modified MRS agar (supplemented with cysteine and acetic acid)
under anaerobic conditions. Can grow at 20-40 ºC, pH 3.0-5.0 and in 0-5% NaCl
media. Facultatively anaerobe.
Isolated from a solid-state vinegar culture of Zhenjiang aromatic vinegar, China.
Undetermined.
Heterofermentative.
Description is based mostly on API ZYM, API 20 E and API 50 CHL (bioMerieux) results.

Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, cystine arylamidase (weak reaction), esterase (C4), leucine arylamidase,
naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase (weak reaction), valine arylamidase, acid production from cellobiose, glycerol, gentibiose, glucose
(with gas production), lactose, maltose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, salicin, and xylitol.

Negative results for catalase, esterase lipase (C8), alpha-fucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase -alpha- and -beta-glucosidase,
beta-glucuronidase, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, alpha-mannosidase, lipase (C14), oxidase, trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, urease
acid production from L-arabinose, esculin, D-fructose, galactose, gluconate, mannose, melibiose, methyl beta-D-xylopyranoside,
