Phylum Bacillota (Firmicutes), Class Bacilli, Order Lactobacillales, Family Lactobacillaceae, Genus Limosilactobacillus,

Gram-positive rods, 0.7-1.2 / 1.1-2.7 µm. Non-spore-forming. Non-motile.
Colonies are whitish, opaque, raised, with a diameter of 1.0-2.0 mm after 48 h of
anaerobe incubation at 37 ºC on MRS agar; 0.4-0.8 mm in aerobic condition. Grows at
30 and 37 ºC. No growth at 15 or 45 ºC. Grows at pH 4.0-8.0. Facultative anaerobe.
Isolated from the faecal sample of striped mouse (Rhabdomys pumilio), USA

Positive results for the fermentation of L-arabinose, esculin, galactose, glucose (with gas production), lactose, maltose, melibiose,
raffinose, ribose, sucrose, and D-xylose.
Negative results for catalase, fermentation of adonitol, amygdalin, arbutin, D-arabinose, D- and L-arabitol, cellobiose, dulcitol,
erythritol, L- and D-fucose, D-fructose, gentiobiose, gluconate, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, glycerol, glycogen, inositol, inulin, D-lyxose,
mannitol, mannose, melezitose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-xyloside,
rhamnose, salicin, sorbitol, L-sorbose, starch, D-tagatose, trehalose, turanose, xylitol, L-xylose, N-acetylglucosamine, and methyl
beta-D-xylopyranoside.
