Gram-positive rods, 0.5 x 1.6-6.5 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are white, smooth, 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter after 2 days of anaerobic
incubation at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Can grow at 15-45 ºC, pH 5.0-8.5, and in 0-10%
NaCl. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from spent mushroom substrates, Japan.

N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, fermentation of amygdalin, arbutin, L-arabinose, cellobiose,
esculin, D-fructose, galactose, gentiobiose, glucose (without gas production), lactose, mannitol, mannose, maltose, rhamnose, salicin,
starch, D-tagatose, trehalose, and N-acetylglucosamine.
Negative results for alkaline phosphatase, catalase, esterase lipase (C8), lipase (C14), trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, alpha-fucosidase,
alpha-galactosidase, alpha-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, and alpha-mannosidase, fermentation of adonitol, D-arabinose, D- and
