Species decription is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods, 0.8 x 1.5-3.0 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on MRS agar are white, irregularly circular, convex, 1-2 mm in diameter, after
72 h at 30 ºC under anaerobic conditions. Facultative anaerobe. Grows at temperature
range 15-45 ºC (optimally at 30 ºC), pH range 3.5-7.5 and in 4.0% NaCl.
Isolated from orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) silage in Hachimantai, Iwate, Japan.
Undetermined.
Heterofermentative.
Description is based mostly on API 50 CHL (7 days), API ZYM, and API 20 Strep (bioMerieux) results.
