Homotypic synonym: Companilactobacillus suantsaicola (Lin et al. 2020) Zheng et al. 2020.
Gram-positive rods, 0.7 x 2.1-3.4 µm, occurring singly, rarely in pairs. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are flat, white, slightly irregular, 1.0-2.0 mm in diameter after 2 days of
anaerobic incubation at 30 ºC on MRS agar. Non-haemolytic. Can grow at 15-37 ºC
(optimum 30 ºC), pH 4.0-10, and in 1-6% NaCl (variable in 7% NaCl). Facultatively
anaerobic.
Isolated from suan-tsai, a traditional fermented mustard product, Taiwan.
Undetermined.
