Gram-positive rods, 0.5-0.6/1.1-7.5 µm. Non-motile.
Colonies are circular to slightly irregular, with a smooth to rough surface, 2.0 mm in
diameter after 2 days at 37 ºC on MRS agar. Growth temperature is 10-40 ºC. Can
grow at pH 4.0-7.0. Grows in 0-2% NaCl. Facultative anaerobic.
Isolated from "suan-tsai", a traditional fermented mustard green, Taiwan.
