termiticola Noda et al. 2018.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocco-bacilli, 0.34-0.38 x 0.5-0.68 µm. Non-motile.
Colonies on BHI agar plates after 2 days of incubation at 30 ºC under anaerobic
conditions are 1-3 mm in diameter, cream-coloured, circular, entire, smooth and
opaque. Grows well at 20-30 ºC, but weak growth is observed at 40 ºC; grows with 2%
(w/v) NaCl and at pH 6.0-8.0, but not at pH 5.0 Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the gut of the wood-feeding higher termite Nasutitermes takasagoensis.
Undetermined.
