Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cells, showing a rod-coccus cycle, 0.4-0.8 x 2.0-3.0 μm. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are circular, slightly convex and pale yellow with entire margins. Grows in
PYG, TSB, TSA, at 5-37 ºC (optimally at 30 ºC), at pH 6.0-9.0 (optimally at pH 7.0) and
in the presence of 0-5% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from a desert soil sample, Xinjiang region, China.

Positive results for catalase, Tween 20, Tween 40 and Tween 80 hydrolysis.
Can utilize as sole carbon source glycerol, L-arabinose, D-fructose, D-mannose, maltose, melibiose, trehalose, D-ribose, D-glucose,
L-histidine, glycine, L-threonine, L-alanine, L-serine (weakly) and L-proline (weakly).
Negative results for casein hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, ONPG (beta-galactosidase), H2S production, nitrate reduction, oxidase,
starch hydrolysis, and urease, acid production from fructose, rhamnose and sucrose.
No utilization of D-sorbitol, sucrose, L-lysine, L-methionine, L-asparagine and L-glutamic acid.
