Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci, 0.8-1.3 μm. Endospores are not formed. Nonmotile.
Colonies are beige-yellow, circular, opaque, convex smooth and approximately
1.0-2.0 mm in diameter after incubation on modified S-G medium at 35 ºC for 3 days.
Growth occurs at 4-50 ºC (optimum, 35 ºC), at pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum, pH 7.0) and in
the presence of 0-5 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 0%, w/v). Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from saline and alkaline soils in Dechang Township, Zhaodong City, PR China.
Susceptible to ampicillin and chloramphenicol. Resistant to gentamicin, kanamycin, tetracycline, streptomycin and spectinomycin.
Undetermined.
