Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci, 0.6-1.2 μm, occuring in pairs. Endospores are not formed.
Nonmotile.
Colonies are pink–orange pigmented on nutrient agar. Grows at 10-37 ºC, but not at 4
or 42 ºC. The optimal growth temperature is 27 ºC. Grows in 0-7% NaCl. No growth
occurs in the presence of more than 10% (w/v) NaCl. The optimal pH for growth is pH
8.  Aerobic.
Isolated from the Gwangalli coast of Korea (marine habitat).

Positive results for catalase, L-lysine dihydrolase, methyl red test, nitrate reduction, L-ornithine dihydrolase, acid production from D-
fructose, D-galactose, maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, melibiose and trehalose.

Negative results for beta-galactosidase, indole production, oxidase, starch hydrolysis, urease, Voges–Proskauer test, acid production
from N-acetylglucosamine, D-arabinose, cellobiose, D-glucose, lactose, methyl alpha-D-glucoside, pullulan, pyruvate, raffinose,
sucrose, xylitol or D-xylose.
No utilization of citrate.
