al. 2019.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci, 0.8-1 / 1.0-1.2 μm. Nonmotile. Endospores are not formed.
Colonies on Muller-Hinton agar are orange, opaque and circular, with entire margins,
approximately 1 mm in diameter. The texture is dry, and colonies are non-viscous. On
Columbia agar supplemented with 5% sheep blood under the same conditions,
colonies are orange, opaque and circular, with entire margins and non-viscous.
Diameters range from 1 to 2 mm.
Growth is detected at 20-37 ºC (optimum 30 ºC) and pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum 7.0). Grows
in 0-5 % (w/v) NaCl (optimally in 0-2%). Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the uropygial gland of Tyto furcata (barn owl).
Undetermined.

Description is based on API ZYM and API 20 NE results.

Positive results for catalase, or esterase (C4), esterase lipase, gelatin hydrolysis and leucine arylamidase.
Can assimilate of glucose, mannitol, maltose, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, malate and phenylacetic acid.

Negative results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, alpha-fucosidase, cystine arylamidase, trypsin,
alpha-chymotrypsin, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase,
N-acetyl-beta-glucosamidase, indole production, lipase, alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, urease, valine arylamidase
and acid production from glucose.
No assimilation of mannose and capric acid.
