Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci, 0.9 µm in diameter. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on TSA after 48 hours incubation at 30 ºC are yellow, smooth, glossy
and circular with entire margins. Grows at 5-30 ºC (optimum 20-25 ºC), at pH 7.0-12.0
(optimum pH 8.0), and in the presence of 0-7.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 2.5% NaCl).
Aerobic.
Isolated from healthy roots of Glycyrrhiza uralensis F. collected from Xinyuan County, Xinjiang Province, China.
Sensitive to amikacin, chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, gentamicin, kanamycin, novobiocin, penicillin G, polymyxin B,
streptomycin, tetracycline and vancomycin. Resistant to netilmicin and tobramycin.

Positive results for alkaline phosphatase, cystine arylamidase, catalase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), beta-galactosidase,
alpha-glucosidase, leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, valine arylamidase, acid production from esculin ferric
citrate, fructose, D-glucose, D-lyxose, D-mannitol, mannose, L-rhamnose, trehalose, D-turanose, and D-xylose.
Can utilize acetic acid, L-alanine, L-aspartic acid, formic acid, D-gluconic acid, inosine, N-acetyl neuraminic acid, quinic acid,
D-saccharic acid, D-serine, L-serine, stachyose and sucrose.
Negative results for acid phosphatase, alpha-chymotrypsin, beta-fucosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase,
beta-glucosidase, beta-glucuronidase, H2S production, lipase (C14), alpha-mannosidase, nitrate reduction, oxidase, trypsin, urease,
acid production from D-adonitol, amygdalin, D- and L-arabinose, D- and L-arabitol, arbutin, cellobiose, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and
L-fucose, D-galactose, gentibiose, gluconate, 2- and 5-ketogluconate, N-acetylglucosamine, methyl-alpha-D-glucoside, glycerol,
glycogen, inositol, inulin, lactose, malate, maltose, methyl-alpha-D-mannoside, melibiose, melezitose, raffinose, ribose, salicin,
