Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive coccoid rods, 0.6-0.8 x 0.4-0.6 µm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are orange, circular, entire, smooth and convex. Growth occurs at 10-40 ºC
(optimum 25-28 ºC), pH 6-12 (optimum, pH 9-10) and with 0-15% (w/v) NaCl (optimum
5-7% NaCl). Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from water of a soda pan located in Kiskunsag National Park, Hungary.
