Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive cocci. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are orange-yellow, circular, opaque, and approximately 0.5-1.0 mm in
diameter after 24 h at 28 ºC.  Growth occurs at 1
-15% (w/v) NaCl (optimum at 5%, w/v)
and pH 5.0-12.0 (optimum pH 8.0
-9.0).
Isolated from a saline soil sample from the Xinjiang Province, China.

Can utilize glucose, ribose, xylose, dextrin (weak), arabinose (weak), cellobiose, trehalose, maltose, sucrose, mannose, mannitol,
fructose, salicin and galactose.

2S production, indole production, nitrate reduction,
N-acetylglucosaminidase and ornithine decarboxylase, oxidase, starch hydrolysis, Tween 20 and 80 hydrolysis, urease,

No utilization of  lactose, starch, rhamnose, acetamide, inositol, adonitol and sorbitol.
