Old synonym: Bisgaard taxon 25.
Gram-negative coccoid or pleomorphic rods. Non-motile.
Colonies on bovine blood agar are regular, circular and slightly raised with an entire
margin, smooth, shiny, opaque with a greyish tinge and have a diameter of 1.0-1.5
mm after 24 h incubation at 37 ºC. Beta-haemolysis is not produced and CAMP test is
negative. V-factor (NAD) is not required. Grows on MacConkey agar. No growth in the
presence of KCN.
Isolated from guinea pigs.
May be involved in purulent conjunctivitis in guinea pigs.
