Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pasteurellales, Family Pasteurellaceae, Genus
Muribacter,
Muribacter muris Nicklas et al. 2015, comb. nov., type species of the genus.

Synonyms:
Streptobacillus moniliformis, Bisgaard taxon 12, Actinobacillus muris Bisgaard 1988.
Gram-negative cells, nonmotile, rod-shaped.
Colonies are circular, low convex and regular with an entire margin; the surface of the
colonies is smooth, shiny, grayish and opaque 1.5-2.0 mm in diameter after 24 h and
3.5-4.0 mm after 48 h at 37 ºC. Hemolysis is usually negative.  Some phenotypes
show a weak haemolysis or CAMP reactionX- and V-factors-independent. Growth on
Mac Conkey agar is negative.
Is a normal component of the oropharyngeal and genital tract flora of laboratory white mice.
