Ursidibacter,
Vespertiliibacter pulmonis Muhldorfer et al. 2014, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative coccoid rods. Non-motile.
Require a nutritional supplement with NAD such as Vitox or IsoVitaleX Enrichment for
growth. Colonies grown on chocolate agar (5% CO
2, 24 h at 37 ºC) supplemented
with Vitox are 1 mm in diameter, greyish, opaque, circular, convex with an entire
margin and smooth. The texture of single colonies is butyrous or dry. Grows on brain
heart infusion agar and on 5% horse blood agar (both supplemented with NAD),
producing a clear zone of haemolysis around colonies on horse blood agar.
Isolated from noctule bats (Nyctalus noctula).
Undetermined.
