Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative, short rods. Motile by a polar flagellum. Non-spore-forming.
Temperature for growth ranges between 4 and 37 ºC, growth pH ranges between 6.5
and 8. Optimal growth occurs at 25 ºC and pH 7-8. Able to grow with up to 2.5% NaCl
in TSB. Aerobic.
Isolated from a bark beetle from the species Ips acuminatus in the Czech Republic.

Positive results for catalase, aesculin hydrolysis and oxidase.
Can utilize: D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, trisodium citrate, glycerol, L-fructose, amygdalin, arbutin and salicin.

Negative results for  arginine dihydrolase, beta-galactosidase, indole production, nitrate reduction, gelatinase, urease and glucose
fermentation.
No utilization of adonitol, N-acetyl glucosamine, D-maltose, caprate, adipate, malate, phenylacetate, rhamnose, sorbitol, sucrose,
galactose, meso-inositol, melobiose, D-trehalose, xylitol, D- and L-fucose, D- and L-arabitol, 2- and 5-ketogluconate.

Contradictory results for mannitol and gluconate utilization.
