Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas californiensis Carvalho et al. 2022.
Gram-negative rods 0.4 x 1.6 μm. Motile by lophotrichous flagella. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies after 24h incubation at 28 ºC on nutrient agar are whitish, smooth, circular
and 0.7-1.0mm in diameter. Fluorescent pigment is not produced on King’s medium
B. Grows at pH 5-6 and 1-4% NaCl. Strictly aerobic
Isolated from symptomatic leaves of Delphinium sp. in California. Ice-nucleation-positive.
Undetermined. Tobacco hypersensitive reaction is negative.

Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): alpha-D-glucose, D-mannose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-sorbitol, D- and
L-serine, D-mannitol, D-arabitol, myo-inositol, D-glucose-6-phosphate, acetoacetic acid, L-alanine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid,
L-pyroglutamic acid, D-galacturonic acid; L-galactonic acid lactone, D-gluconic acid, D-glucuronic acid, mucic acid, quinic acid,
D-saccharic acid, L-lactic acid, citric acid, alpha-keto-glutaric acid, D- and L-malic acid, gamma-amino-butyric acid, propionic acid;
acetic acid and formic acid.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, levan sucrase, oxidase and pectin hydrolysis.
