Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, esterase (C4), leucine arylamidase, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, nitrate
and nitrite reduction, oxidase and urease.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, cystine arylamidase, esterase lipase (C8), aesculin hydrolysis, alpha-fucosidase, alpha
and beta-glucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, gelatin hydrolysis, glucose fermentation, lipase (C14),
trypsin, alpha-chymotrypsin, alpha-mannosidase, protease and valine arylamidase.
No assimilation of adipic acid, D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid,
N-acetylglucosamine, trisodium citrate, phenylacetic acid and malic acid.

Gram-negative rods, 0.5 x 1.5 µm. Non-motile.
After 48 h of incubation at 35 ºC in 5% CO2 on BHI agar, the colonies are smooth,
circular and beige with translucent membranes on the surface. Growth occurs at
temperatures of 15-40 ºC, at pH 5-9 and in 0-3 % (w/v) NaCl.
Heterotrophic.Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the gut of the Asian honey bee (Apis cerana) collected from Pingwu County, Sichuan Province, PR China.
