Can assimilate D-glucose, maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid and trisodium citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon sources (Biolog): mucic acid, dextrin, glycogen, Tween 40, Tween 80, D-fructose, D-galactose, alpha-D-
glucose, maltose, melibiose, D-psicose, turanose, pyruvic acid methyl ester, succinic acid monomethyl ester, acetic acid, cis-aconitic
acid, citric acid, formic acid, D-galacturonic acid, D-gluconic acid, D-glucosaminic acid, D-glucuronic acid, alpha-hydroxybutyric acid,
beta-hydroxybutyric acid, DL-lactic acid, L-alanine and glycerol.

Negative results for DNase, alpha-fucosidase, alpha- and beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase, alpha- and beta-glucosidase, N-
acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase, indole production, alpha-mannosidase, nitrate and nitrite reduction, methyl red test, Voges–Proskauer
reaction, acid production from glucose.
No assimilation of adipic acid, N-acetylglucosamine, phenyl acetic acid, L-arabinose, D-mannose, and D-mannitol.
No utilization of itaconic acid, lactose, inositol, citric acid and melibiose.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.7-0.9 x 2.1-2.6 µm. Motile by a single polar flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are raised, irregular, undulate and light yellow-coloured.  Can be cultured on
NA, TSA and R2A plates. Fluorescent pigment is not produced. Grows at 20-42 ºC, pH
6.0-10.0, and tolerates up to 7% (w/v) NaCl. Aerobic, no anaerobic growth.
Isolated from a hot spring water sample in Taiwan.  Resistant to ampicillin-sulbactam. Susceptible to ceftazidime, tobramycin and
colistin.
