Synonym:
Ectopseudomonas khazarica (Tarhriz et al. 2020) Rudra and Gupta 2024.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.6 x 1.2-1.7 µm. Motile by a single polar flagellum.
Colonies on marine agar medium are cream colored,circular, convex and entire. Can
grow without NaCl and tolerate it up to 6.5% after 48 h and 8.5% after one week with
optimum growth in 2% NaCl, at 10-45 ºC (optimally at 30 ºC), pH range of 3.0-10.0  
(optimum pH of 6.0-7.0). Can grow on MacConkey agar, nutrient agar, brain heart
infusion (BHI), LuriaBertani (LB) media and sea water agar. Aerobic.
Isolated from Khazar (Caspian) Sea.
Can degrade polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), lysine decarboxylase, leucine arylamidase, nitrate reduction, naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase,
ornithine decarboxylase, oxidase, tyrosinase, tryptophan deaminase, trypsin, Tween 20 and 80 hydrolysis, alpha-chymotrypsin,
urease, valine arylamidase, acid production from: cellobiose, D-glucose, D-fructose, D-maltose, glycerol, D-galactose, D-glucose,
D-mannitol, N-acetylglucosamine, esculin, D-lactose (bovine origin), D-saccharose (sucrose) and D-trehalose.
Can assimilate (API 20 NE): glucose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid and trisodium citrate.
Can utilize L-arginine and L-ornithine.

Negative results for gelatinase, H
2S production, indole production, Voges-Proskauer test, acid production from L-arabinose,
D-mannose, raffinose and D-xylose.
No utilization of L-arabinose, D-fructose, pyruvate and D-xylose.
