Positive results for acid and alkaline phosphatase, catalase (weak), esculin hydrolysis, lecithinase, oxidase and urease (negative in
Yang's study).
Can utilize as sole carbon or nitrogen source: L-alanine, glucose, sucrose, dextrin, galactose, maltose, xylose, fructose, sorbose,
lactic acid, acetic acid, L-phenylalanine, L-methionine, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-cystine, and L-cysteine.

Negative results arginine dihydrolase, gelatin hydrolysis, beta-galactosidase, H
2S production, indole production, lysine
decarboxylase, methyl red test, nitrate and nitrite reduction, ornithine decarboxylase starch hydrolysis, Tween 80 hydrolysis,
Voges-Proskauer test and acid production from glucose.
No utilization of adipic acid, mannose, valeric acid, propionic acid, itaconic acid, capric acid, lactose, raffinose, rhamnose, cellobiose,
arabinose, mannitol, oxalic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, DL-alanine, L-lysine, L-glutamic acid, aminoacetic acid,
L-arginine, DL-asparagine, DL-serine, L-threonine, L-histidine, L-tryptophan, N-acetylglucosamine, L-rhamnose, D-ribose,
meso-inositol, suberic acid, salicin, melibiose, L-fucose, D-sorbitol and 5-ketogluconate.

Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.6-0.8 x 0.8-1.3 µm. Motile by a single flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on Luria-Bertani agar are off white, glossy, opaque, and circular. Grows at
20-37 ºC  (optimum at 30 ºC), at pH 6.0-9.0 (optimum at pH 8.0), and with 1-5% NaCl  
(optimum at 1-3%). Grows on MacConkey agar. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from long-term sulfonylurea herbicides applied wheat-field soil in Linying located in Henan province of China.
Sensitive to gentamicin, piperacillin, ciprofloxacin, roxithromycin, tetracycline, amoxicillin, amikacin, erythromycin, cefotaxime,
ampicillin, ceftazidime, azithromycin and rifampin. Resistant to clindamycin, penicillin G, sulfamethoxazole, chloramphenicol,
bacitracin, vancomycin and novobiocin.
