Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas neuropathica Duman et al. 2021.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.4-0.5 x 1.1-2.5 µm. Motile by lophotrichous flagellation.
Colonies on King B agar are round, flat, opaque, beige-coloured and mucoid with
regular margins, and are approximately 5mm in diameter after growth for 2 days at 30
°C. Fluorescein pigment is produced, but pyocyanin is not. Produce beta-haemolysis.
Grows at 4-37 ºC, pH 7-9 and in the presence of 0-4.5% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from farm cultured rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Turkey.
Isolated from the yolk sac of fish with abnormal, spiral and upside-down swimming.

Positive results for arginine dihydrolase, gelatin hydrolysis and oxidase.
Can assimilate (API 20NE): glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, gluconate, caprate, malate and citrate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): bromo-succinic acid (weakly), D-fucose (weakly), D-glucuronic acid (weakly),
methyl pyruvate (weakly), alpha-D-glucose, Tween 40, D-mannose, D-mannitol, gamma-amino-butyric acid, D-fructose, D-arabitol,
L-alanine, trehalose, D-galactose, L-arginine, D-gluconic acid, L-lactic acid, beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric acid, glycogen, L-aspartic acid,
citric acid, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, L-glutamic acid, glucuronamide, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, L-histidine, mucic acid, D- and L-malic
acid, propionic acid, quinic acid, acetic acid, inosine, L-serine and D-saccharic acid. Other tests produce negative results.
Negative results for nitrate reduction.
No utilization of: myo-inositol, D-sorbitol, glycyl-L-proline, L-pyroglutamic acid, D-serine and formic acid.
