Gram-negative rods, encapsulated, 1.4-1.6 x 0.4-0.5 μm, motile by means of a single
flagellum.
Colonies on are circular, smooth, non-pigmented, whitish and transparent, 2-3 mm in
diameter, on TSA and MA. Fluorescent pigments and pyocyanin are not produced on
King B and King A medium, respectively. No hemolysis.
Aerobic. Growth is observed in 0-10% (w/v) NaCl (optimally at 5% NaCl) and at
temperatures of 7-41 ºC; no growth occurs at 4 or 42 ºC; optimal temperature 28 ºC.
Grows on media: King A & B agar, Trypticase Soy Agar, Marine agar / broth.
Isolated from a marine sponge collected from the Philippine Sea at a water depth of 750 m.
Undetermined.
