Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,

Synonym: Pseudomonas piscicola Duman et al. 2021.
Gram-negative rods, 0.3-0.7 x 1.7-2.6 µm. Motile by polar flagellum.
Colonies on King B agar are round, flat, opaque and beige-coloured, with regular
margins and approximately 1-2mm in diameter after growth for 2 days at 30 ºC.
Fluorescein pigment is produced, but pyocyanin is not. Produce alpha-haemolysis.
Grows at 4-37 ºC, pH 7-9 and in the presence of 0-4.5% NaCl. Aerobic.
Isolated from farm cultured rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Turkey.
Isolated from 0.2 to 0.5 g of fry and an alevin rainbow trout with dorsal fin ulceration.

Positive results for catalase, indole production and oxidase.
Can assimilate (API 20NE): glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, gluconate, caprate, malate, citrate and phenylacetate.
Can utilize as sole carbon source (Biolog GEN III): L-histidine (weak), D-malic acid (weak), alpha-D-glucose, Tween 40, D-mannose,
D-mannitol, methyl pyruvate, gamma-amino-butyric acid, D-fructose, D-arabitol, L-alanine, D-galactose, L-arginine, D-gluconic acid,
L-lactic acid, beta-hydroxy-D,L-butyric acid, glycogen, L-aspartic acid, citric acid, L-glutamic acid, alpha-keto glutaric acid, mucic acid,
propionic acid, L-pyroglutamic acid, quinic acid, L-malic acid, acetic acid, inosine, L-serine, bromo-succinic acid and formic acid.
Other tests produce negative results.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, gelatin hydrolysis and nitrate reduction.
No assimilation of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine.
No utilization of: D-sorbitol, gelatin, pectin, glycyl-L-proline, D-galacturonic acid, sucrose, D- and L-fucose, D-galactonic acid lactone,
D-lactic acid methyl ester, alpha-hydroxy butyric acid, trehalose, myo-inositol, D-glucuronic acid, alpha-keto-butyric acid,
N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, glucuronamide, D-fructose-6-phosphate, D-serine and D-saccharic acid.
