Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas profundi Sun et al. 2018.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.6-0.7 x 1.8-2 µm µm. Motile by a single polar flagellum.
Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are creamy, smooth, circular, convex and 0.5-1 mm in diameter after 3 days
incubation at 25 ºC on Marine Agar. No production of pyocyanin or fuorescent pigments.
Growth occurs at the temperature range 4-40 ºC (optimum, 25 ºC), at pH range 7-10
(optimum, 9) and with 0-10 % NaCl (optimum, 1-2 %) in Marine Broth. Strictly aerobic.
Isolated from a deep-sea water sample of the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean.
Resistant to oxazocilline and clindamycin. Sensitive to amikacin, ampicillin, aztreonam, cefazolin, cefalotin, cefuroxime, cefoperazone,
cefotaxime, cefatriaxone, cefepime, ceftazidime, cefoxitin, erythromycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, polymyxin B, furantoin, ofloxacin,
streptomycin, piperacillin, penicillin G, spectinomycin, clarithromycin, vancomycin, clindamycin, chloramphenicol, achromycin,
minocycline, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin.
Undetermined.
